After School Club

The After School Club has been at Elizabeth House for over 10 years. We offer a safe and secure environment for children to play, pursue arts and crafts activities and generally have fun.

We are child-centred and facilitate what the children want to do and not to force them into activities against their wills. We recognise play as “scientific investigation by children” and an important part of their social and personal development. It is their time, outside the confines of school and home, and enables them to develop a sense of thinking for themselves and becoming self-directed.

We have an experienced and qualified play-crew. We are also OFSTED registered (EY252396) to provide childcare for 5-8 year olds.

Currently our fees are £8 per day per child or £35 per week. All fees must be paid in advance. There are a very limited number of concessionary places available.

We collect children from St. John’s and Gillespie Primary Schools and escort them safely to the club. Children from other schools in the local area make their own way here. On arrival the children receive a light snack and drinks are available all through the session. The day may consist of a variety of arts, crafts, sports and games, in the hall or playground. We also have an on-line computer suite which is very popular with the children.
